Below is the text of the contemplative prayer spoken over our church in February 2023. This prayer is one that can be prayed at any time, and positioning ourselves in surrender to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
Prayer from Romans 12:1-2 TPT
“What should be our proper response to God’s marvellous mercies? I encourage you to surrender yourselves to God to be his sacred, living sacrifices. And live in holiness, experiencing all that delights his heart. For this becomes your genuine expression of worship.
Stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around you, but be inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit through a total reformation of how you think. This will empower you to discern God’s will as you live a beautiful life, satisfying and perfect in his eyes.”
Heavenly Father,
You give us mercy,
grace,
love
in abundance.
God, you take delight in me. You delight in lives surrendered to you.
This life you have given me
You want it to be satisfying
Beautiful
I know that when I do life my way,
On my terms
I am influenced by what is happening around me,
And I get bogged down
distracted
But
When I live surrendered to you,
seeking your will,
seeking your guidance, Holy Spirit,
you transform me,
you empower me.
My desire is to be a living, genuine expression of worship to you.
Jesus, I know that you surrendered your very life for me,
your life is life in me
I follow your example,
I follow your lead,
I surrender my will, mind, emotions and my desires to you.
A living sacrifice,
I am yours.
Father, have your way in me.
