Steps to developing your faith

Becoming a disciple and follower of Jesus Christ is a life-long process of reading God’s Word, learning to listen to the Holy Spirit and obeying His Word. At Bayside Church we provide a pathway which encourages us to know the foundations of the Christian faith, our identity in Christ and how to walk in the freedom that Christ has purchased. We also aim to equip you for ministry so that you can establish your kingdom purpose at Bayside Church.

We ask all Baysiders to complete each step.

We also offer a great range of courses during various times of the year.

Alpha

Explore life, faith and meaning with Alpha. We believe everyone should have the opportunity to explore life and the Christian faith, to ask questions, and share their point of view in an open, friendly environment. Typically run over eight weeks Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith, looking at a different question around faith and designed to create conversation. Alpha is run all around the globe, and everyone’s welcome. It runs in cafés, churches, universities, homes – you name it. No two Alphas look the same, but generally, they have three key things in common: food, a talk and good conversation.

This is a foundational step of what we believe as a Church community and helping you with: • Knowing God (relational nature of God) • Knowing God’s Heart (living by grace, justice and mercy) • Knowing God’s Kingdom (through the Word & prayer) • Expressing God’s Kingdom (through Baptism & Communion) • Empowered for God’s Kingdom (through Baptism of the Holy Spirit) Completing this step, as well as Bayside Step 2 is paramount for those that desire to serve at Bayside Church.

This step shares some important aspects of Bayside Church, including: • Why church? • Engaging in church life • Empowered for church life • Developing a safe church • Your pastoral care • How church works • Partnering with your church If you are new to Bayside Church, completing Bayside Step 2 – Step to Church is necessary in order to serve in any team at Bayside.

Step to Leadership is for anyone who is desiring to enter into a leadership position at Bayside Church. This course covers key foundational topics such as: • The Call of a Leader • The Leader's Heart • A Leader's Spiritual Life • The Leader's People Skills • The Leader as a Team Builder • The Empowering Leader

Bayside Step 3 | Step to Leadership

Step to Leadership is for anyone who is desiring to enter into a leadership position at Bayside Church. This course covers key foundational topics such as:
• The Call of a Leader
• The Leader’s Heart
• A Leader’s Spiritual Life
• The Leader’s People Skills
• The Leader as a Team Builder
• The Empowering Leader

Bayside Step 4 | Advanced Training

Once all four Bayside Steps have been accomplished, ongoing training and leadership modules are offered to help train and empower people into their giftings. Modules include Connect Group Training and Leadership Training.

The One Course is a ten-week discussion-based course designed to equip singles to live out their God-given purpose in Him. The course helps participants become self-aware in decision making and empowers them to make healthy choices. Each week participants will be guided through different topics including reflections on cultural perceptions of singleness; examining the single life of Jesus; developing one’s identity; navigating life when it doesn’t go according to plan; identifying vulnerabilities and establishing strategies; looking at how a surrendered heart brings new life and fulfilling one’s need for intimacy in a healthy way. One course runs in seperate girls and guy groups.
