Children’s Ministry Assistant

Bayside Church is currently seeking a vibrant Children’s Ministry Assistant to join the Children’s Ministry team to grow and develop the children’s ministry of Bayside Church and maintain the church’s relevance to the upcoming generations.

Purpose of the Role:

To assist the Children’s Ministry Leader in the preparation, coordination and development of all activities and programs for children aged walking to preschool and primary school. The role is primarily responsible for assisting in the Christian spiritual development of children.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Development of weekend programs for preschool and Primary aged children including.
  • Compiling run sheets and rosters.
  • Developing curriculum, compiling craft/object lesson, implementing worship songs, and game preparation.
  • Researching, developing and implementing new initiatives in conjunction with Children’s Ministry Leader.
  • Teaching and coordinating the children’s program and teaching any of the age groups.
  • Assisting Ministry Leader with managing and communicating with volunteers.
  • Providing assistance and guidance in developing policies and procedures, position descriptions and leader’s handbook.
  • Researching, developing and implementing annual events in conjunction with the Children’s Ministry Team.
  • Performing administrative duties.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A relevant tertiary or professional qualification in Ministry/Theology or Early Learning or Teaching.
  • Relevant and specialised knowledge and experience in the development and implementation of children’s programs.
  • Be willing to generate and put forward creative ideas and be a part of the process to see those ideas come to fruition.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach and connect with children in their spiritual development.
