Apologising to Bill Gates

2 September 2020 Hits:5281

As I’ve noted a few times in recent blogs, conspiracy theories are sadly one of pandemics’ symptoms. But no one has copped more flack from conspiracy theorists during the COVID-19 Pandemic than Bill Gates. Consider these as just an example:

  • Bill Gates briefed the CIA about a “mind-altering vaccine.”
  • Italy has called for his arrest.
  • The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is spending billions to ensure that all medical and dental injections and procedures include tracking microchips.
  • Gates said a coronavirus vaccine would “permanently alter your DNA.”
  • Mr Gates has admitted, “his COVID-19 vaccine might kill nearly 1 million people.”
  • He leads a class of global elites.
  • He is leading efforts to depopulate the world.
  • Bill Gates has been warning of a worldwide pandemic for years (true) and actually brought the virus into the world (untrue)
  • The Gates Foundation has tested vaccines on children in Africa and India, leading to thousands of deaths and irreversible injuries. One post even suggested he is facing trial in India.
  • He is accused of rolling out a tetanus vaccine in Kenya that includes abortion drugs.
  • He is linked with China’s communist party.

People share these conspiracies as fact on social media. Others share the posts with little or no fact-checking. And, off it goes—viral rubbish circulated as truth.

Why Bill Gates?

Rory Smith, from fact-checkers First Draft News writes, “[Bill Gates] is this kind of voodoo doll that all these communities are pricking with their own conspiracies. And it is unsurprising he has become the voodoo doll – because he has always been the face of public health.”

Of course, Bill & Melinda Gates are easy targets. They are famous, powerful, and rich. Before the Gates, George Soros, the Koch brothers, the Rothschilds, and the Rockefellers were all the targets of conspiracies. As a young Christian, I knew without a shadow of a doubt that the Rothschilds and the Rockefellers funded the Illuminati that would introduce the one-world government and the antichrist. How wrong I was.

In a survey conducted by Ipsos MORI and the Allensbach Institute, respondents in four countries were presented with the following statement: “Those who are very rich and want more and more power are to blame for many of the major problems in the world, such as financial or humanitarian issues.”

In Germany, 50% of interviewees agreed with this statement, roughly twice as many as in Great Britain and in the United States (25% and 21%, respectively).

Trying to Find a Scapegoat

Crises like the current pandemic are often complicated in nature. There are aspects of the virus, treatment, and ultimate cure that are difficult to understand. It’s so much easier to attribute the crisis to something sinister and straightforward.

It’s caused by these wealthy, influential people who have a malevolent agenda. Psychologist Peter Glick put it this way, “Scapegoat movements attract followers by offering simpler, culturally plausible explanations and solutions for shared negative events.”

What concerns me more than anything, though, is the number of Christians – you know, followers of Jesus, The Truth – who are propagating these lies.

Rather than undertaking diligent research through credible sources, these theorists blindly agree with and share their “truth”. Behaviour like this is inconsistent with people who uphold the Gospel of Jesus and are hopefully filled with the Spirit of Truth (John 16:13).

Don’t Walk Blindly

Christianity’s credibility is seriously eroded, especially by conservative, evangelical & Pentecostal Christians (my tribe). As mentioned in previous blogs, many people in these groups hold to a modern understanding of Bible prophecy, popularised by a cult leader.

Many Christians today are waiting for an antichrist, one-world government, cashless society, and great tribulation and often interpret crises as forerunners to these events. It’s no wonder then that these same people will fall hook, line, and sinker for conspiracy theories that back up their interpretation of Bible prophecy.

Beliefs such as these are powerful. I mean, they are based on the Bible, the Word of God, right? And so, rather than living life to bring heaven to earth (as Jesus taught his followers to pray), these Christians live with an expectation that hell on earth is just around the corner. A crisis is relished, as long as it doesn’t come too close. Governments are merely puppets controlled by a group rich, powerful, and famous people (a cabal or cartel) who have a hidden agenda of world domination.

Many of these conspiracies contradict each other. Suppose you consider all the theories and conspiracy trends. This is what you arrive at: Covid-19 doesn’t exist; it’s a hoax, a phantom virus made in a lab near Wuhan, or the USA, by the Chinese or the Americans. It’s harmless, and just an excuse to limit our freedom, and it’s deadly and is being used for population control. It’s being released so that we need to be given a vaccine to survive, so the microchip injected into us when we received the vaccine will also kill us to reduce the population to stop global warming, which isn’t even a thing. This is so the looney left can spread socialism and communism so they can control all the people. These people are already dead and already controllable because of the microchips. And all of that is actually just a hoax to distract us from the rollout of 5G, which is designed to kill us for one of the reasons already noted above!

An Apology to the Gates Family

I hope this minor rant will demonstrate how ridiculous all of this posturing really is. And I think we need to give a massive apology to Bill and Melinda Gates. I’ve never met them, but I’d like to one day. What I’ve seen and read about them has always impressed me. Melinda Gates’ Catholic faith appears to be the motivating force behind the Gates Foundation, which they created in 2000. Since then, they have given away more than $45 billion (approximately half of their wealth). Their priorities are fighting diseases, reducing extreme poverty, and improving maternal health – the foundation partners with many organisations. Faith-based groups – including Catholic organisations, World Vision, Lutheran groups, and the Salvation Army – are key recipients of more than 125 foundation grants.

I know that Bill Gates is aware of the conspiracy theories circulating about him. He’s addressed them publicly. What concerns me is that he is also probably aware that Christian people are amongst their biggest spreaders. And so, I apologise to Bill and Melinda Gates. Please don’t think all followers of Jesus are like this. Many of us appreciate the work you and Melinda are doing, and we don’t believe you have an insidious agenda. Like us, we assume you have the vision to make this world a better place, to create heaven on earth.

As for the conspiracy theorists, I know you will write to me and give me “proof” that I’m wrong. It’ll come in the form of a YouTube clip, or meme, or article from some dodgy website. So, let me save you the time. I’ve done the research, and you’re wrong. But one thing I need to let you know. The term “conspiracy theory” was invented by the CIA. Fact!

Michael Gilmuorsays:

Great article Ps. Rob. I completely agree with you about Bill and Melinda Gates… I had a discussion just the other day about this very topic and how mind-numbingly silly the various Gates conspiracy theories are. It’s a sharp reminder that just because something is on the Internet it doesn’t mean that it’s correct. Fact check and do due diligence on the claims and most importantly the source of the claims prior to whole heartedly believing in them.
I wish you all the best during these difficult times.

Kathy Lawsonsays:

Amen! Thank you so much for that Rob.

Zizi paltossays:

Brilliantly written Pastor Rob. You have made so many things clearer. I, like you, have always admired Bill and Melinda Gates’s generosity of spirit, and finances.
God bless them both.

Matt Murphysays:

Right between the eyes! Well done Rob. Thank you for addressing these conspiracies. I agree that Bill and Melinda Gates are helping the poor in many ways, as an outworking of their faith and they inspire many others to do the same.

Helen Brittainsays:

Very good article Ps Rob, its just sad how true it all is, that it’s the Christians mainly that are spreading these conspiracy theories, instead of spreading the good news of Jesus!

Anne Irwinsays:

Thank you for this post. It deeply saddens me to hear these theories from people who have, in the past, been looked up to as faithful Christian leaders. They are on all social media inciting their numerous fans/followers to open rebellion at the worst, slanderous posts at best. If it grieves me, what does the Holy Spirit feel? The worst thing, I find, is the absolute nastiness which pervades posts from these Christian leaders. It is so good that you are faithful.

Rob Buckinghamsays:

Thanks, Anne. I’m grieved by it too, which is why I’m addressing these things. Sadly, one of the symptoms of every pandemic has been conspiracies. This one is no different, but I wish followers of Jesus, The Truth, would stop spreading lies!

Stavro Lindossays:

You have submitted yourself to men who are pure evil. Is depopulation not evil? This man’s father aborted baby’s for a living. Are you out of your ever-loving mind? Lord God open the eyes of pastors who allow themselves to submit to men. There is more evidence that this man visited pedophile island with Epstein. God help us that we should apologise to such a wicked man. You are out of your mind. Soft and weak.
We the body of Christ can’t gather because of the flu.
Don’t believe me.
NYT posted. Corona numbers in the US inflated by 90%. Who is behind that? CDC. Who is affiliated with them? Bull Gates. Shall I continue? Seriously. God is going to expose more of this. Oh, Lord Jesus. It’s men like these who are betraying your word and are people pleases. Their image in culture is more important than your word and your name.
Wolves in Sheep in clothing.

Rob Buckinghamsays:

Thanks for your comments, Stav. To be clear, a blog is about starting a discussion on a single topic. I am more than happy to have people disagree with me but the tone of your comments is accusatory and lacks grace. In future, please run your comments through the fruit of the Holy Spirit ~ qualities like kindness, gentleness, and self-control spring to mind! Now, to address some of your comments/concerns:

Regarding depopulation, I’d like to clear up a misconception that has been spread by conspiracy “news” sites such as Your News Wire (Now Newspunch). Depopulation is NOT killing people by injecting them with vaccines. Depopulation is about creating an environment that reduces infant mortality. Because of high infant mortality rates in some countries, couples choose to have more children than they want to in order that at least some survive. Bill Gates is not interested in using vaccines to reduce the population by using them as an agent of death or a tool to sterilize unsuspecting masses. Rather, Gates is interested in keeping more children alive in order to reduce the need for parents to have more children, thus limiting the overall population growth rate. And, think of this from a Christian perspective. Imagine the trauma that parents face by losing many children. Reducing child mortality enhances life, prosperity, and well-being. It brings some heaven to earth as The Lord’s Prayer says. And so, depopulation is not about reducing the world’s population but rather slowing the rate at which it grows.

* My blog is not about Bill Gates’ father
* Bill Gates did not visit Epstein’s “paedophile island.” Flight records show that Gates was only on Epstein’s plane once, and that was to go to Florida. Bill gates has his own plane!
* ” We the body of Christ can’t gather because of the flu.” COVID-19 is not the flu (refer to one of my comments in the thread that deals with this.
* “NYT posted. Corona numbers in the US inflated by 90%.” No it didn’t. It was responding to a claim made by Donald Trump suggesting the death count was inflated. The opposite is probably true. NYT reported, “the death toll is probably far higher than what is publicly known. People are dying at their houses and nursing homes without ever being tested, and deaths early this year were likely misidentified as influenza or described only as pneumonia.”
* “Are you out of your ever-loving mind?” I’ll let the apostle Paul answer that, “If we are “out of our mind,” as some say, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you” (2 Cor. 5:13)

Alan Heronsays:

Rob, the evidence from Doctors all over the world, including 500 or more in Melbourne alone, is that this virus is no worse than the Influenza virus and seeing as the deaths from Influenza in 2017 were actually double the claimed Covid-19 deaths, we can see this for ourselves.
Your post comes across as very smug, probably because you have lumped all the ridiculous Conspiracy Theories and claims to gather and then tarred anyone and everyone who doesn’t buy the official story to be followed by feathers, no doubt.
I’ve been around for 63 years and my late Father was a Doctor who was studying medicine in Belfast during WWII. My late Mother was a Nurse, also conducting her studies during WWII. (They met in post war Germany as RAF medical personnel)
Although I didn’t follow in my Father’s footsteps, I did learn many things growing up and throughout my adult life, that have stood me in good stead. One of those things is that the Pharmaceutical Industry is FAR more interested in making VAST amounts of money, than it is in actually healing people. This is not to say that many employees of such companies aren’t very concerned about medicinal breakthroughs, far from it! But that is not the point. As a GP, Dad became more and more disgusted with his profession as the years went by and the pressure to conform to the general consensus became more and more insistent. He often complained about the pressure to just churn out prescriptions for drugs hand over fist, rather than taking the time to investigate all of the aspects of a person’s habits, etc, before making a diagnosis.
When HIV/AIDS reared it’s head in the 1980’s, Dad told me how the health departments of nations such as Great Britain, New Zealand, Canada, and Australia, sent out instructions to all medical practitioners telling them what they could and could not say about that condition. The level of Censorship was at the very least overbearing and I read through one such communication with disgust at the tone.
All this to say that the censorship of dissenting Doctors, Nurses, and other medical personnel, that I see going on right now, is not new, but it is on a level that I find personally alarming. I don’t about you, but I have had personal experience of the media telling outright lies before now, so I don’t trust them at all. I was in Ukraine during the revolution of 2013 and the false narratives were LEGION about what was happening there. I had many worried calls from here and other parts of the world as family and friends contacted me, alarmed at the footage and reports they were seeing on the News. To say that it was fake is to understate matters to a ludicrous degree.
It wasn’t my first experience of that phenomenon and so I wasn’t surprised to see it happening, nor am I surprised to see it happening again. What I am a built more surprised at is the almost pathological eagerness to be deceived that I am witnessing daily amongst people I regard as rational and intelligent people! It’s just incredible to watch! This virus is real enough and not very pleasant, but it is NOT EBOLA, nor is it BUBONIC PLAGUE!
It’s not anywhere near as lethal as the ‘experts’ on the idiot box all led people to believe! The amount of false information is amazing, yet people just believe it because someone on TV said it.
I take your point about Conspiracy Theories about Bill Gates, but there’s no getting around the fact that he has gone on TV to make statements such as; “Even after we have a Vaccine, gatherings in such places as Churches might never come back.” Whatever else may be said about him, he doesn’t have any mandate to be making such statements AT ALL. Bear in mind that the US government successfully sued him for breaching the laws governing business dealings, a decade or so back and that his career has been pockmarked with double dealing of several of his friends and partners over the years, so he is hardly a person I regard as having any integrity or moral character worth speaking of. His only claim to fame is that he has made an obscene amount of money, using questionable tactics along the way, and he is therefore given far too much airplay.
I note that you seem to want to create some kind of philosophical distance between Bill and his father, but it’s facile to believe that he grew up as the son of a man who headed up the abortion industry that is Planned Parenthood (arguably one of the most wicked institutions around) and didn’t absorb the inherent anti-biblical philosophy that killing babies before they’re born is somehow ‘noble’. Not to mention the inconvenient truth that Planned Parenthood founder was a Racist through and through (although called by the euphemistic term ‘Eugenicist’ as a PR stunt) Bill Gates is obviously a fan of Margaret Sanger also, because he has never eschewed his father’s work in that evil empire of death, no matter how altruistic you may believe he is.
I really think you should do some more (and BETTER) research before pontificating on one of the more objectionable member of Silicon Valley.
Zuckerberg and the rest are bad enough, but Gates is not someone I’d let near MY kids if they were still children.

Rob Buckinghamsays:

Hi Allan. Thank you for your comments. I won’t respond to everything you’ve written. Suffice to say:
1. Bill Gates didn’t say, “Even after we have a Vaccine, gatherings in such places as Churches might never come back.” That’s false news that has been spreading just like lots of other conspiracies. It was started by a blog post on the Pulpit and Pen website on April 9th.

The misquote comes from a nearly 30-minute interview in which Gates doesn’t mention churches. Rather, he says that the government needs to prioritize testing, and talks about when a vaccine could be ready for COVID-19 and when communities could open back up. He said that he expects that by the end of April some regions will see the number of COVID-19 cases plateau and then decrease. Nothing about churches not meeting. No conspiracy.

With regards COVID-19 and the flu. COVID-19 is 30 times more deadly than the flu.
It’s 30% more deadly because the death rate of CoVID 3-4%
Death rate of average seasonal flu 0.1%
So COVID is 30 x deadlier than seasonal flu.

When you are talking about infectivity, COVID is estimated to be between 2-6 times more infectious. How they calculate this is a bit complicated. It uses something called a reproduction number which can change between different settings and patient populations, hence why there is a range.

Pamela Hankinssays:

What research did you do when you dismiss everything out of Gate’s own mouth because it’s on the web or because Christians posted it? Seems to me you’ve made up your mind and will not be convinced by anything, even when it comes straight out of Gate’s own mouth. What do you do with the newspaper articles from Kenya saying that the Gate’s vaccines supposededly for one thing, were actually used to sterilize Kenyan women? How do you dismiss that Gate’s father was a eugenicist and closely affiliated with Planned Parenthood’s founder the infamous Margaret Sanger. You can believe what you want, but you are responsible for those that follow you, and what if you are simply wrong? Wouldn’t it be more prudent to err on the side of caution? But, instead, you are insisting that you know in spite of evidence to the contrary. Further, you’ve stated you don’t want to see videos..what about Gate’s Ted talk where he reveals his belief that the world is over populated and that if ‘we do a really good job with vaccines’ we can bring down the world’s population significantly? Who put those words in his mouth? You will dismiss my words too, because you are obviously much more educated and you alone have ‘done the research’ and your conclusion is sacrosanct. Nevertheless, the people that follow you will also be greatly impacted if they take this vaccine. Just looking at it reasonably, and dispassionately, what flu shot has prevented people from getting the flu or has cured them of it? The stats are that multiple thousands die each year from the flu anyway, regardless. So, why take the chance on a vaccine without knowing for sure that it’s safe. And what will your assessment of it be based on, except that someone in authority will tell you it is? Bill Gates heavily funds the WHO…why do you think he does that? Without a degree in medicine he is able to influence the entire globe about their health, and he’s only allowed to do so because of his vast wealth. Maybe you should take the time to consider the old adage, ‘power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely’. You can only have so much stuff, power and influence result in a race for the same among those with that kind of wealth. That’s why the media is controlled by a handful of people (all liberal). LOOK around you…what is the ideology driving the lawlessness in our country? It’s the result of the influence of liberal teachers and lawmakers inserted into our schools and into government by people such as Gates. Deceivers like to appear benevolent and kind, but they are deceivers and nothing more.

Rob Buckinghamsays:

Thanks for your questions, Pamela. Sadly, the “Gate’s vaccines used to sterilize Kenyan women” conspiracy is once again doing the rounds. This has been debunked numerous times but it surfaces from time to time and people blindly share it without doing sufficient fact-checking. The sterilisation claim is more than 20 years old and has been repeatedly debunked by the World Health Organization and others ever since. As for population control, I’ll address that in answer to another comment on this thread.

Your comments about influenza and the flu vaccine are buying into another fallacy being spread by non-medically trained people. 2019 was the second-worst flu season on record. 902 people sadly died in Australia – not 4000 as some are asserting. Thanks to flutracker, we know that People who are vaccinated against flu are less likely to report symptoms or absence from work, and are less likely to need hospitalisation. They are also less likely to pass on the flu which also assists the community. Now consider that COVID19 is at least 20 times more deadly than the flu and four times more infectious. 20% of people who get COVID19 have to go to hospital. The percentage of COVID19 patients that end up in ICU is much higher than for those who have flu. The length of stay in the hospital is much longer. 5% of COVID19 patients need ventilators. 25pc of survivors have severe organ damage. This is why we have lockdowns. We are dealing with a very different disease than influenza.

For those who may be concerned about the impact of vaccines, there are significant safety measures. Australia has an incredibly robust and rigorous vaccine approval process. In addition, EVERY adverse reaction to a vaccine is monitored. Some people DO have adverse reactions- the number of adverse reactions numbers hundreds out of millions vaccinated. Usually, it has to do with pain at the injection site. Tiredness and irritability are also adverse reactions. Hospitalisation is very, very, very rare.

I hope my comments help you.

Pamela Hankinssays:

The thing is, ‘evidence’ can be found to ‘prove’ or disprove anything. The Scriptures can be used in the same manner…arranged and rearranged to prove whatever point a person wishes to make. The only preventative I have come across is found in Paul’s letter to the Philippians. Chapter 3 gives us the criteria by which to have an unbiased heart, which is the desire to set aside both heritage and scholarship and ‘everything that is gain to me’ in order to KNOW HIM, and having that heart attitude we are told in verse 15 that ‘if we are in anything otherwise minded’ God will reveal it to us. If we will keep hold what we ‘know’ loosely, waiting on the Lord, we will always discover there is more to a subject than we first believed. John 3:21, “But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God”.

Rob Buckinghamsays:

…unless what’s in front of your face is only part of the story. I have some medical friends getting back to me on this so I may follow up on my initial comments with more information. According to reports the 2 children reported have polio strain 2 which is currently circulating in Chad. They were vaccinated in 2019 against strains 1 and 3. The vaccine used for polio is an inactivated (killed) virus so unless it’s a faulty batch it would not be able to cause polio. These children have a polio strain they were not vaccinated against. Also, no vaccine is 100% effective. But as they were vaccinated in 2019 and have contracted polio now it’s likely to be local spread from Chad and not the vaccine that is at fault.

Rob Buckinghamsays:

Here’s the feedback on the polio question from a medically-trained friend:

There are two main varieties of the polio vax: the oral poliovirus vaccine (OPV or Sabin) uses live but weakened poliovirus strains to produce antibodies. The injectable inactivated poliovirus vaccine (IPV or Salk) contains an inactive form of the virus, but is a lot more expensive and requires well trained medical personnel to administer every dose by injection.

One doctor or nurse can supervise many volunteers with the oral vaccine, making it possible to carry out massive vaccination programs. The downside is that you do get some cases of vaccine-associated paralytic poliomyelitis (VAPP). So the critical question is how common is it compared to how common polio was?

Kohler, K.A., et al. (2002) “Vaccine-associated paralytic poliomyelitis in India during 1999: decreased risk despite massive use of oral polio vaccine”, Bulletin of the World Health Organization, Vol. 80, https://www.who.int/bulletin/archives/en/80(3)210.pdf
“Vaccine-associated paralytic poliomyelitis (VAPP) is a rare but serious consequence of the administration of oral polio vaccine (OPV). … The following estimates of VAPP risk were made: overall risk, 1 case per 4.1 to 4.6 million OPV doses administered; recipient risk,1 case per 12.2 million; first-dose recipient risk, 1case per 2.8 million; and subsequent-dose recipient risk, 1 case per 13.9 million. Conclusion: On the basis of data from a highly sensitive surveillance system the estimated VAPP risk in India is evidently lower than that in other countries, notwithstanding the administration of multiple OPV doses to children in mass immunization campaigns.”

Overall the use of the oral vaccine has vastly reduced the numbers of those who would have ended up with paralysis. Is it perfect? No. Would it be better if the rich world paid for the injectable vaccine and the money to train all the staff needed to administer it? Sure. But is the net result better than what was happening before? Absolutely. See the attached charts.

So, when anti-vaxxers bring out this issue and say that the vaccines have harmed thousands of children, they are deliberately distorting the picture. Have you heard of the trolley problem in ethics? The idea is that you’re driving a trolley car (we’d call it a tram), and you notice 5 people tied up on the tracks in front of you. You can pull a lever to switch tracks, but you notice one person tied up on the alternative track who you’ll run over if you do. If you do nothing, 5 people die. If you get actively involved and pull the lever, one person dies through your actions – though you save five others. So what do you do?

The anti-vaxxers are basically hammering Bill Gates (or whoever) for harming the one person on the tracks because they pulled the lever. They don’t want you to look at the five other people tied up on the tracks who were saved. In fact, they’ll do anything to distort the picture to hide the fact that literally millions of kids have been saved through the vaccines:
Polio and Vaccine-Associated Paralytic Poliomyelitis

https://www.verywell.com/polio-and-polio-vaccines-2634430

“It is important to remember that although 580 polio cases occurred after 20 outbreaks of cVPDV around the world from 2000 to 2011 and there were 15,500 cases of wild paralytic polio during that time, the polio vaccine itself prevented over 5 million cases of paralytic polio. Without polio vaccines, we wouldn’t have VAPP, VDPV, and cVDPV, but we would go back to the days when over 500,000 people a year developed paralytic polio.”

Until the early 1990s, an average of 500 to 1000 children were getting paralysed every single day in India from polio – around 180-365,000 each year. Source: John, T.J. and Vashishtha, V.M., (2013) “Eradicating Poliomyelitis: India’s Journey from Hyperendemic to Polio-free Status”, Indian Journal of Medical Research, Vol. 137, No. 5, May, pp. 881–894. http://www.ijmr.org.in/article.asp?issn=0971-5916;year=2013;volume=137;issue=5;spage=881;epage=894;aulast=John

Yes, there has been an increase in complications following the dramatic increases in vaccination rates and there are complex debates in India and Africa and in the international medical journals about the best dosages and how best to transition from the cheap and easily administered oral vaccines to the injected vaccines – but to suggest that things were better overall before the vaccinations, or that simply improving sanitation could have done the job is just farcical. Wild polio – which used to lead to half a million cases of paralysis every single year – has now been eradicated everywhere except Pakistan and Afghanistan through a concerted vaccination campaign. But do the anti-vaxxers celebrate that? Of course not.

Pamela Hankinssays:

http://www.jar2.com/Files/TheNewWorldOrder.pdf Here’s a book written by a person whose research about the NWO spans 26 years, Ralph Epperson. It wouldn’t hurt to take another look, (no one will know).

Rob Buckinghamsays:

Hi Pamela.
Thank you for all your comments. You’ve had a busy weekend it appears. An example of what I mean is this: Ralph Epperson is a conspiracy theorist and not a credible source. He has been wrong about a date for the beginning of the so-called New World Order. He believes in the New Age world ruler “Lord Maitreya” who has been living high in the Himalaya Mountains since 1977 preparing to take over the world.
In 1990 Epperson suggested that Maitreya’s descent from the mountains was imminent. He was wrong again. Some of this stuff is picked right out of the New Age Movement that I was part of until my conversion to Jesus in the late 70s. You might like to read the following blog, and some of my other recent blogs, in which I debunk the New World order and the antichrist. While these relatively modern doctrines are widely held, they have a dodgy beginning and no Biblical foundation.

Hi Pastor Rob, Ive done a little research myself, and find that there are alot of bizarre coincidences which kind of makes me understand why people lean toward conspiracies. One thing in particular being Event 201 which was held in October 2019 – a simulation on how to respond to a global coronavirus pandemic, funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation – then boom 2 months later the virus hits. It that not extremely coincidental Pastor? I’d just like to get your opinion on how something like this would not make you suspicious? In Christ, Pete

Rob Buckinghamsays:

They have received a lot of questions about this, Peter. And made a statement on the website ~ https://www.centerforhealthsecurity.org/news/center-news/2020-01-24-Statement-of-Clarification-Event201.html

It certainly is interesting timing but I would see it as preparation for the inevitable. In recent years, the world has seen a growing number of epidemic events, amounting to approximately 200 events annually. These events are increasing, and they are disruptive to health, economies, and society. It is only right that medical & benevolent institutions and governments should prepare for these.

Julietsays:

Great post from a good man of God, I can never understand why people believe these conspiracies…

Thank you Ps Rob

Dear Pastor Rob,
The world needs more souls like yours. It takes a lot of energy to confront untruths and call them out, even more to debunk them and defend your own opinions with facts. And yet you do it with a kindness of spirit that comes from your faith. Thank you for standing up against the tidal wave of internet-borne conspiracy.
