Relief Aid Hits Queensland

Bayside Church raised over $23,100 to help flood affected victims in Queensland and Victoria. Just over $11,500 has been donated to the relief efforts spearheaded by C3 Church in Queensland. Below is a report from John & Danielle Pearce,QLD/Far Northern NSW State of the work that is being achieved:

Initial Clean Up
There have been hundreds of people from at least 10 C3 Churches going in as teams to help with the clean up of houses, neighborhoods & businesses in the Brisbane and Ipswich areas.

Food for Grantham Evacuation Centres
The Defence Force requested food packages to be sent to evacuation centres in the Grantham area and C3 Churches in Queensland have been able to help with that.

White Goods
A white goods program which entails supplying a brand new fridge and washing machine to 25 families who have been effected by the floods. These will be delivered free to people's homes in the Brisbane, Ipswich & Grantham areas.

Pastors in Ipswich & Members of C3 Church Indooroopilly
Supplying significant financial assistance to pastors of a church in Ipswich who have been devastated by the flood and also financial assistance to a family who are members of C3 Church Indooroopilly. The C3 Church Indooroopilly family lost their entire house contents and have been doing it very tough.

Building work on Ipswich Church
A team of workers are helping to rebuild a church in the Ipswich area and also provide a new sound system for the church.

100 Uniforms for 100 Students
Working with chaplains in the Ipswich community to help children of flood effected families with school uniforms. Getting children back in uniform is a small but powerful way of rebuilding confidence.

Re-Build of Houses in Ipswich
Working with the Mayor of Ipswich to identify at least two houses in the Ipswich region which we can rebuild. Materials are being sourced at or below cost, we have a range of tradies who have offered volunteer time and we are looking for more who would like to be involved.
