In light of the bushfire disaster across Australia, Bayside Church is in touch with the major emergency relief agencies and local and federal MPs to see how best to help.
Financial donations can be given now through Bayside Foundation for organisations working directly in affected areas. While immediate needs are being met by government and emergency relief agencies, Bayside Community Care will assist future work to assist victims to rebuild their lives.
To date, Bayside Church has raised $15, 195.33 for the bushfire relief.
A donation of $5000 has been sent to enable the members of Riviera Christian Centre in Bairnsdale to provide hi-protein pellets of stock feed to farmers in the bushfire affected East Gippsland. The fire that tore through farms killed sheep and cattle and destroyed food stocks. Yet, many cattle and sheep survived. Helping the farmers feed their remaining stock, will help them to rebuild now.
Millions of animals have been killed and others desperately need to be rescued and tended to. A $1000 donation has also been given to 1,000 to Wildlife Victoria Emergency Response Service which rescues native animals.
Food hampers are also going to The Alfred Hospital for staff that are working around the clock dealing with burn victims.
We will continue to give to needs. If you would like to financially give, all giving is tax-deductible through the Bayside Foundation. 100% of your gift will be passed through to help those in need.
