More than 20 million people in Pakistan have been affected and at least 1,600 have been killed in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab and Sindh provinces. The UN estimates that up to six million people are in need of food and four million are without shelter.

Water-borne diseases such as diarrhoea; acute respiratory infections, skin allergies and infections, as well skin diseases such as scabies are major health issues for flood survivors in Pakistan. About 72,000 children are affected by severe malnutrition, according to United Nations officials.
